It’s always bitter sweet when the time comes to put away all of the Christmas decor. This year was especially so for me. I “remodeled” all of my decorations this year and am in love with the way that everything turned out.
And it was a sad moment when I put the ornaments away because I gave all of A’s ornaments to her this year for her tree. I know that it made her happy and that is what matters – but no matter how old your babies get – they are still your babies!
Several years ago I was cleaning out the Christmas storage tubs and realized I had an abundance of Christmas tins and plastic cookie containers. I started sorting through them with every intention of getting rid of all but one or two and then I had a brilliant idea to re-purpose some of those containers into ornament tins. This has been a huge time saver in Christmas decorating.
One of our Christmas traditions is to decorate our tree together and we each hang our ornaments on the tree. It was always a hassle to separate the ornaments between everyone. I set a side one container for each person and labeled it with their name. I put all of their ornaments in their container after Christmas. Next year, there will be no sorting of ornaments, just the ornament tins … soo much quicker and easier.
