I find myself in a constant battle with planning and organization. Sure .. I have a few people fooled. They think I have it all together – but really – I don’t! I mean .. I look around and I have stacks of papers, long to-do lists, unfinished projects,
a never ending pile of LAUNDRY (oh wait .. my DH has been doing that) and chores galore; so, with the new year approaching .. I again, hold my head high, and march into battle ready to conquer the to-do list, file the papers and finish those projects!
I found a great little article over at wikiHow – How to be organized – that covers some steps in how to get organized. It’s pretty much what I do to help me get a hold of my scattered thoughts (refreshers always help to revive the lost thoughts, don’t you think?) I also picked up a little trick from a book that I read last year – The Daniel Plan by Rick Warren – and that was to adopt a theme word. So I gave that a try over the summer and it worked brilliantly. Can you guess what my word was?? It was ORGANIZE .. so original, I know! I wrote it all over my notes and lists and would keep it fresh on my mind. It helped me to stay focused on my over-all goal and I accomplished most of what I had set out to get done.
So, as the new year approaches, I am getting a head start on my planning and goals. I am grabbing my favorite tools: a composition notebook, an assortment of Sharpie pens in different colors, and my smartphone; and I am off to plan for the new year!
